Rule 131 – Notice of Admission to Shelter or Detention

The person in charge of the facility shall notify any child admitted to shelter or detention of the reasons for the action and of the child’s rights under Rules 154 and 155 of these rules. That person shall also notify the child that a hearing will be held by the court concerning the necessity for shelter care or detention.

The court, parents, guardian, or custodian of the child shall be immediately notified that the child has been admitted to such shelter or detention facility. They shall be informed that there will be a prompt hearing by the court regarding release or detention.
