Rule 84 – Seal

A. The Court’s seal shall contain the words “COURT OF COMMON PLEAS” on the upper arc of the circle and the words “FOR THE STATE OF DELAWARE” on the lower arc. This language shall encircle the coat-of-arms similar to those appearing on the Great Seal of the State and bearing the date the Court was founded, the date the county courts merged into a statewide Court, and the date the Court achieved Constitutional status. The Clerk shall be the custodian of the seal and is authorized to affix it to such documents as directed by the Court or as may be appropriate.
B. This rule is promulgated pursuant to the provisions of 10 Del. C. ยง 1307.
C. A copy of the seal shall be maintained in each County.
